Collage

Collage is an assemblage of different materials, primarily paper, to create an artwork. I use paper and assorted two-dimensional materials and attach them securely with acrylic to wood panels measuring 7 x 7 x ½ inches. I enjoy the grain of the various woods, sugar maple, cherry, mahogany. Sometimes I weave the colors visually in and out of the lines of the wood grain. The surfaces are finished with a UV varnish which protects the colors from fading. There is a simple key shaped hole in the back of the wood panel to hang on a nail, screw or a picture-hanging hook.
