Sculpture 2011

The high waters caused by the Irene hurricane in 2011surround two of the STEELHEAD fish on the Winooski River which divides the cities of Burlington and Winooski, Vermont All five STEELHEAD fish, my first public sculpture, were originally installed in 1981 in the Winooski Falls Park near the bridge connecting the two cities. They were removed in 2002 because of new construction near the sculpture. They are now reinstalled along the new Winooski River Path. TIDINGS I, 2011 in Kingston, MA on June summer solstice. The round shadow cast from the sphere is just beginning on the summer solstice curve. You can see the subtle hour marks along the curve. During the course of the day the shadow continues along the curved cross piece.

Notice the round shadow showing slightly on the middle equinox cross piece marking the passing of the equinox. It was a cloudy day.
